First introduced at X Day, xPortal takes the Maiar experience and further elevates it by expanding on its features and scope. Set for launch on February 28th, xPortal aims to be the go-to Web3 super app and the ultimate gateway to the Multiverse. Similar to the Maiar App, it will provide a one-stop-shop for managing finances, but will also add social interactions and access to an ever-expanding array of digital worlds.
Enriching user experience beyond what is currently built in the blockchain space, xPortal will feature your avatar, everything finance via: swaps, portfolio management, cards, chat and social interaction, and last but not least, the vast landscape of dApps to play with in different forms – all just a few taps away.
To mark this exciting milestone, we are introducing the xPortal Launch Championship, a raffle-style competition designed to bring together vast amounts of MultiversX enthusiasts and enable them to win prizes, while staying up to date with the latest announcements.
Participants will be able to register via email and earn a share of a prize pool containing 900 EGLD, MultiversX merch and xPortal Diamond Touch metal cards. By confirming their phone numbers, users can unlock invite links, which can be subsequently used for inviting friends and earning extra tickets. Top 50 users that generate the most referrals will automatically get the Diamond Touch metal card.
User progress through the competition steps, together with referral and ticket stats, can all be easily tracked through the main dashboard.
The transformation begins
We are happy to announce that Maiar’s transformation into xPortal has begun, with the website being the first to migrate to a new domain (xportal.com). Social media channels have also already morphed to the new identity. Additionally, the help and support pages have also been relocated to a new domain and are accessible at help.xportal.com starting today.
To accommodate the upcoming upgrade, access to Maiar via App Store and Google Play will be discontinued starting January 12 until the xPortal launch. Users will still be able to use their current version of the Maiar App, but new installs and updates will no longer be available. Given the open nature of the blockchain and the great value of non-custodial wallets, all MultiversX accounts are not directly tied to a wallet app, such as the Maiar App. Using their secret phrase *which should never be shared with anyone*, users can easily switch to any other MultiversX wallet to manage their funds. For new users, one convenient alternative until the launch of xPortal can be the MultiversX DeFi Wallet (previously called Maiar DeFi Wallet), available for the Chrome and Firefox browsers, or the MultiversX WebWallet.

The final transition from App to Portal will take place on the 28th of February, through an update for both iOS and Android users, available in the App Store and Google Play Store.
As a gateway into Web3, Maiar has already onboarded over 1,2 million people. That, on its own, is an impressive feat. To reach the next billion, though, we need it to do and be even more.
