I apologise first of all for the lack of communication during the last weeks. As previously mentioned, the project was in dire need of capital in order to continue the development of the game since the bear market has been going on for almost a year. And with over 20k euros cost of development a month coupled with a 5x lower than anticipated for EGLD price our cash reserves dried up.
After talking with multiple accelerators, capital funds, investment firms in the space and outside, I was not able to secure any deals for an internal investment. Our biggest lead was Morningstar Ventures, which dragged us along for 6+ months waiting on a response. (more on that later). I take full responsibility for it and I want to apologies to everyone who supported the game and vision, it's my fault I couldn't convince any investors to take part in this and to keep the game alive. As we have done multiple sales, and seeing that the liquidity was not there we decided to stop asking people to mint to not drain them from more money.
I am deeply saddened that the game will never be live, we were the first project on the MultiversX/Elrond community to launch a alpha testing, live, online with working deck builder, ranked system, over 300 players in total, and all the bells and whistles. Only thing missing were the polishing, visual effects, music/sound and bug fixes. We set a standard for our DEMO version of the game, that surpassed what other "complete" projects build. But it seems just a part of our community was interested and invested in it. I have personally talked to Lucian Mincu, the co-founder at the X-day event, trying to get the team onboard, but sadly my emails and messages to the team we're never even answered.
As the company still burns money every month, on accounting and running the servers and website, we are forced to declare bankruptcy and close down the LLC. I want to make it VERY CLEAR, even after working 2 years on the project, I have personally made NOTHING in terms of monetary gain from the project. More than that, I have invested some of my own money in the project, to cover some cost, in order to focus all the money to the development of the game. For people saying this is a "rug" or "cash grab", it shows me exactly the type of mentality and uninformed community members, which are the exact cause of the project not making it. People simply didn't care, or didn't care to see what the project was about. Exactly how Morningstar Ventures treated us. Having to schedule multiple meeting where we explain again and again what our project is about, only for them to forget and reschedule a meeting in 1 month's time. Dragging us on for months on ends, dangeling the possibility of an investment. While spending millions on projects with monkeys and apes, where CEOs disappear after the investment. They dragged us along for months, lost tons of money on bad projects and now projects like ours ended up dying because they do not have the cash to invest.
I want to say thank you to everyone who supported the game, who played the demo, and who understood what our project was about. And I want to apologies for people who invested in us and sadly we could not deliver the final product. I spend countless sleepless nights trying to find a way to finance the project. I want people to know that we really tried, I really tried to make it work. And I hope seeing the cards, the booster packs, the game demo event we built it showed. All we needed was around ~100k in private investment, for the game to be fully complete and running, with tournaments and every feature we promised.
I'm sorry I couldn't make the game a reality, sorry to all our community members, supporters and investors.
Gavid,
